Head to our Create Your Own section and pick the item you’d like – T-shirt, mug, tote bag, hoodie, apron… whatever you’re feeling inspired to personalise. We’ve added a few variations so try and find the one closest to the layout/style you want. Remember we will be altering the design to your idea so if the example design has stars decorating it but you want hearts, don’t worry, that’s easily changed.

If the item is available in different sizes or colours you’ll be able to choose these from the drop down box. If the size/colour you want isn’t available please contact us and we will point you in the right direction.

Tell us what you want

CYO listings have two boxes for you to fill in – one for the wording, and one for the design details.
We’ve split them so we can get the text exactly right – whether it’s a name, a quote, or something wildly inappropriate your mate said once and now it’s going on a mug. Please double-check your spelling and grammar in the wording box – we’ll copy it exactly as you’ve typed it, typos and all!

The design box is your space to tell us what matters to you.
We can add little touches to the design to make it fancy such as mixing fonts and decorations like stars etc or we can just do plain wording. Don’t worry – you don’t need to be creative (that’s our job) just give us a few pointers to work with. Maybe you want the design in a certain colour, maybe you just want it sparkly as heck. Either way – stick it in the box. Words like bold, swirly, cute, retro, or even “like something a cool nan would wear” all help us get a feel for the style you’re after. Each CYO listing has photos to help give you some inspiration on how to describe your idea.

Adding pics or logos. If you’re planning to include a photo, image, or logo on your CYO product, make sure you’ve selected the right listing – for example, T-shirt with Photo, Mug with Image, etc. Those listings will have a handy little dropdown menu to let you pick the kind of design you’re after. So just choose the option that works best. We can print exactly as it is or neaten it up a bit (we can work wonders with a wonky screenshot). You might want us to go full-on wizard and Photoshop your mate so they’re sitting on a throne wearing a crown, holding a kebab and riding a llama – you get the idea. Or maybe you’ve just got a phrase like “Unicorn Princess” and want us to find an image that fits. We can absolutely do that. Once you’ve placed your order, you’ll get an email confirmation – just hit reply and send us the image you want to use and we’ll take it from there. 

We create a mock-up

Once your order is in, we’ll work our Proper Mint magic and send you a visual mock-up to approve before anything goes to print. We aim to do this within 48 hours. It’s important that you keep an eye out for the Mock Up Approval email and reply to it as soon as possible. This is your chance to tweak, change, or add something before the real thing gets made. Most of our customers love the first mock-up (or only need a tiny tweak, like a font colour change). But if – by some small miracle – you’re still not happy after a couple of changes, no worries. You can cancel your order and we’ll refund you. Simple as that.
